I picked up this shrimp today. The only thing the LFS was able to call it was "Yellow Shrimp". He had never seen one before. Has any of you ever seen one like it. This is the best I can do for now for a picture. BTW the front of the body is yellow, and the antenea and half of the last four legs are red.

Only very vaguely. Mine has white claws,(actually I see some light red in them) and hind four legs are half red as are the antennae.

Hey Bob,

I have seen them plenty of times, and many have passed through the store, as a matter of fact, there is one in my caulerpa tank as we speak.

Nice shrimp, on the next order I am going to get one for my tank.

Have a nice day,

Bob didn't you just give a CBS to Alan?

Quite possibly I did. What is your point   Things have a habiit of changing. Do you feel this is a CBS then

Well I am just wondering what made you get rid of one and then get another. Not that you're not allowed to do that. I was just wondering if perhaps you got bored of the old one or something to that effect. I did think it was a CBS-type shrimp, but looking at it now, I see that it doesn't have the odd body shape of a CBS. So I have no idea.

Secretly Bob likes to constantly change things but not admit it. He just hides behind the lumper image he has acquired.

I had no problem with the previous shrimp except it was rather large, and crowded into a ten gallon tank. Hence I gave it away to someone who could possibly give it more room. I hope that meets with your approval  I now have a 20H which came from Alan BTW. I now have a lot more room, and felt the tank needed something besides zoos. OK

Bob under any other circumstances we would have to kill you, but seeing as you have proper justification, we will let you live.

As for your shrimp, how does Stenopus zanzibaricus sound? The colouring seems to be a giveaway, but I'm not sure about the body shape of your shrimp. Here's a scan from one of my books.

After consulting my slim volume appropriately named "Armoured Knights of the Sea" by Helmut Debelius I have come up with an ID. They are all Boxer Shrimp. The common everyday one is Stenopus hispidus, The picture Sam provided is Stenopus scutellatum from the Caribbean, mine is Stenopus zanzibaricus from the Indian Ocean.

I think Lostmind was talking about the picture that I posted last night in that thread. I have the exact same one.
