Was wondering if anyone might have a suggestion for a talented black and white tattoo artist in central Alberta.

Full sleeve, skulls demons fireballs, death etc lmao
Red Deer would be wicked but definently would be willing to head to any of the big cites and surrounding area.

James Tex in Calgary has done all my work. Amazing artist.

First of all, James Tex does not stand by his work. Do not go to him. I had 2 peices done by him 8-10 years ago, and in one of them, the colours did not stick. I contacted him, he told me (after several emails with "Touch Up" in the subject line trying to get a reply) that he's not taking on 'new clients' even though he knew full well that he had done the tat in the first place. He may be good at drawing, but he is not a good artist since there is NO after service. For the record, the piece I speak of is 20+ hours, and now I can't find anybody that will touch it.

Second, check out Anthony Orsatti at New World Samurai in Canmore. AMAZING work, and he is UNBELIEVABLY fast. I had a decent sized piece on my back and he added to it... finished the whole back in 6 hours. I live in Fort Mac now, and the drive, and hotel fees to go down and see him are well worth it. Several of us are making the drive to see him. As a bonus, generally speaking, you can get in touch with him and be in and tatted up within a week, maybe 2 at most.

Third - DON'T SEE JAMES TEX!

Forgot to mention, Scary Larry specializes in black/gray, although the piece he put on me was color.

There are a tonne of good artists out there.....Sad truth is anybody that is truly good in one of the major cities, you will have to wait for..... Best thing to do is make a day of going to visit a few of the shops.... Find a guy that you have a good feeling about and then hope he has a waiting list.... if he says he can do ya now then in all likelihood, generally speaking, you don't wanna be inked by him..... I've been in incredibly happy with Sheldon Allen (ghost town)
