Hi All

Can someone help ID these for me?
I got this little frag a while ago but forgot what it is...

When I got my live rock - this piece was full of polyps but of course they were all closed up. Now that they are open - I wonder what they are?

First one looks like cyphastrea to me. 2nd one is just your standard palythoas!

Looked at 1st one again - could possibly be some kind of turbinaria too, but the clors would be unusual for turbinaria.

Thanks! After Googling Cyphastrea - I think it may indeed be this. The guy I got it from had a common name he used but I can't recall what it was. Is there a common name often applied to the Cyphastrea as a genus?

I believe what you have there my friend is "meteor shower" cyphastrea.
If you got it from OA. I would say that it is for sure. It' a sweet piece when it gets big.

Yup that's a Meteor Shower Cyphastrae for sure. Judging by the square plug that it's mounted on, you got it from us at Oceanic Corals.
Love the photo with the yellow clown goby posing top left.

Cheers
