I'm building a frag tank and was looking for some ideas for lighting. Its a standard size 10g tank, plumped into the main system.

You're probably looking at either halide or LED given the size, unless it's 2 feet long then T5s would also be an option. Guessing that it's for SPS I would probably go with a 24 LED retro kit.

Aqua traders has a 20 inch long t5 light with 4 bulbs at 18 watts a bulb . Its around 45 $ for the light and probably another 10 for shipping inside the states .

Why not do a 15gal 24x12x12 for a frag tank. opens up the option of t5's

My space is only 17" wide. I'm thinking of going diy leds, with custom heat skin.

Where is some good places to buy leds

steves led has cheaper leds than most , there not crees , but the output is still going to be good for alot less.

you could consider going with some of the par38 lamps on nanotuners.

steve if you need some LEDs or want to see what they look like, let me know. Im doing a build for a biocube with only 12 LEDs (XM-Ls)

I should have it done this week, hit me up on PMs and we can meet up somewhere. If you want to try it out on your tank to see what it looks like we can do that too.

Hey Steve,

Ill be at Burnaby mountain with the fixture. Its mainly to test out the new XML LEDs so I did a very different color ratio for it just to test it out.

If you want to meet up tomorrow, hit me up with a PM, ill be at SFU till about 5pm if you want to meet up let me know, I can even swing by your place if you are near SFU.
