Im just curious if I can turn my brand new never seen water aqueon 75e gallon tank into a rimless tank by taking off the black top trim. the dimensions of the tank are 48*18*20. the glass thickness is 5/16?
im new to diy tank stuff. thanks for your help in advance.

put the dimensions into an online aquarium calculator and it will tell you the saftey factor of it being rimless .
I wouldnt risk it but you could go euro braced.

yah thats what i was thinking myself. does that mean i have to resilicone the whole tank though?
No just get your eurobracing cut to the size you want, run a bead along the rim press your glass down smooth with finger (Inside Only!!!) let it all dry then take a razor and cut off the excess on the outside.
I would put a piece of masking tape along the edge on the outside as well, this will help stop any smears from the silicone.
