Eh, it was a bit finicky. Could be undersized for what you want to do with it.

Im not sure because the skimmer is not in my hands, but from the picture, the construction looks very skimpy and weak, too thin of acrylic, if you bump it or it tips over it looks like it could break, and the wavy lines in the tube, lends itself to being made of extruded, which tends to crack, haze, and eventually fail..... especially being as thin as it appears to be, if you want a cheap good skimmer, dont look at acrylic, make or buy a PVC skimmer, can be built the same as any other skimmer in function and is cheap, just not clear, you could get a clear collection cup for one too....

For a bit more than 140$ you can buy all the parts for a DIY beckett skimmer.

damn good thing we are in canada and not the US  also I think you could fight the patent on that pretty easy it looks like a claim jumper as skimmers were being built ans used befor the aplication of that pattent so it would probably be declaired as a void patent.

that skimmer is worth about 40 bucks, the flanges are way to thin, the inner tube in the top is way to small, the fitting of the plastic and such looks horable..

I am not sure about the plastic over there, maybe some one who lives that way could tell you the actualy store for plastic tube but a good plumbing shop will have all the PVC fittings you need.

Jesse, contact Wendell or Jack if you want tubing over 4 inches in dia. If you can settle for 4 inch you can get it from GE Polymer, most fibreglass/plastics shops will sell you scrap acrylic and they may even be willing to cut it for you. If you want to go halfers on some 4 inch tube let me know.

I think I've got the two inch, I've got to check though, if not I'd be willing to buy it if you want to go halfers on that 4 inch like I mentioned, it would cost you $30 for 3 feet, you could build a skimmer and a Ca reactor....
