Not the best dimensions for a reef tank but the price is right!

so the dimentions are 96 Long x18 wide (that is front to back) x32 deep (that is top to bottom). that makes it approximently 240g tank Nice.

Strange dimensions but you could do some cool things with it. I'd totally make that an NPS tank.

Annoying dimensions, and not something I would ever pick myself, but would make a great planted freshwater tank or a FOWLR.

My 8'er is 18" deep top to bottom and 22" front to back, I think its OK.

I could think of a few neat thing to do with it

by deep i meant front to back....

I kind of figured that after I posted but 4" narrower then mine doesn't seem that big of a difference, still would make a nice tang or angel tank.

will probably get there on tuesday (slowed down by the long weekend)

but i dont know what you'd do with this tank.... its so high that light would have a hard time reaching that far down

That's why I said NPS tank! Add a few deep water angelfish and a plankton reactor and you've got the makings of a badass tank.

NPS means non-photosynthesis?

ScubaSteve

Ya dude. Non-Photosynthetic. Do a tank of suns, vendors, nepthea, gorgs, all them funky critters. Check out something like this (http://www.houstonfishbox.com/vforums/showthread.php?39475-ADA-NPS-Tank-(uhuru)). Get some scorpion or leaflish, or deepwater angels and you'd be golden. You could even set lights up on the top part of the reef and have softies and LPS up top.

I have seen several tanks that are 36" tall full of coral of all kinds, I dont see what the issue is with it being 32".

We have a tank like that and we have some really nice SPS and LPS and our clams are in the sand and all are doing great, so it can be done.

hmmmm i've never seen it.

Your not looking hard enough & even if there are not many at 36" there are a ton of 30" tall tanks that do very well, an extra 2" is not enough to make big difference.

If you are worried about par use LED light fictures.
