Just to let everyone know.
A scam has been going for accessing your computer's software.
Avery good friend of mine answered the phone about 4pm today,telling him they are from Microsoft and have been watching him as he has picked up a virus and they will walk him through it to have hid computer free of viruses,he then hungup and called me,i asked for the phone number that called him and did a quick search over the net and there you go www.youtube.com/watch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_RfoxFLclI)
here is the phone number don't answer it.

good to know i'll be telling everyone i know this hacker crap is getting totally ridiculous

Thanks for the heads up Eli. If Windows users know anything about MicroSoft they would know that they never call endusers & it's even harder to get any good service from them without giving them a credit card number.

Another reason I have a triple firewall & multiple routers.

Ok so maybe I am a bit confused, it looks {the video} like they are trying to access your modem through the phone line. If you are not using a phone line for a modem how would they accomplish this unless you give them your IP address and then and only then take down your firewall{s}?

Twice I picked up spyware on my old computer that was pretty much the same thing except it had managed to deny me access to the internet and my control board unless I coughed up my CC number.....it claimed it was from Microsoft and if I persisted in trying to access the internet I would be criminally liable for spreading malware

I ended up buying a Mac :mrgreen:
