Here is an interesting video on a shark handler.
I wonder if this guy can tame my clown so I can mount some frags.

Enjoy...

Back in the 80s, I used to hand hold & hand feed my Smooth Horn Shark. It was very cool. The skin is like really rough leather, very grainy to the touch. Easy to get a grip on this sandpaper-like surface though.

Of course it was only 8" long when I bought it and just under 2' when I sold it. Not a monster at all. Very tame. Never bit.

there was an interesting documentary i guess you could call in on the bbc over xmas and they were talking about fish fin soup and how it needs to be stopped ect, but they followed an old tribe around (cant remember where) that actually call sharks, they basically sit in a boat with a rope and sing then the shark swims by they catch it and eat it... it was worth watching

Oh sure, not gutsy enough to do it without the chainmail gloves:lol:. Definately fun to watch, they have been around sharks a long time to understand their behavior patterns. Still can be unpredictable at times. I would love to do a shark dive sometime.

I remember watching a show a couple of months ago, could have been during shark week on Discovery. The host claimed to be able to put sharks to sleep by holding both sides of their heads. He tried this on a couple of smaller sharks befor swimming with and doing this to Tiger sharks. At the end and for his grand finale, he actually did this to a great white.

when I was in the bahamas they had an outdoor aquarium of sorts and on part was a shark pool that they took you in to hold them and such. it was neat and I wasn't realy scard at all because the type they had would bit you but it was very very rare that you could pee them off enough.

The lady that is petting the shark is well known in the world for her research and handling of sharks. Not sure if everybody realizes thats a woman in the video. She has been studying sharks for years and has been trying to help change the image some people have of them...Kudo's to her.

I saw that you did:lol:, didn't know if anybody else did. She knows her stuff and is really trying to change the image that sharks have. Plain truth is our society kills more sharks in a year than sharks have killed in 100. Pretty pathetic and sad. Magnificent fish!

Not to detract from the video itself (beautiful camera work) but this is actually a well documented phenomenon called tonic immobility:
