Have you ever heard of dropsy? I think my six line has it. I have had the fish for about 2 weeks, it has been eating well no sign of stress.
I am sooooo choked  I have read that the fish is basically toast. isn't that wonderful. I have caught the six line and he is now in a bucket. LFS owner said that he has some medicine that can fix it, but I don't know. it is $14 for the medicine and from what I have read, it won't matter.

what do you think I should do?

Dropsy
Cause: bacteria that can only survive in "cold" water (cold to tropical fish).
Cure: Maracyn-Two
Effect: Swim bladder pain, making this disease easy to mistake for swim bladder disease, and puffy, black fins.
How to prevent: Raise temperature above 80oF (but don't fry your fish)

Did a quick search and if caught early, there is a good chance for survival.Lets hope you quarentined him in time and can get some meds to cure him. Will see if I can find more info.
