led world on ebay-you can get a 100 watt driver and 100 watt led chip for under $100-you also do not need a reflector with an led,it's just eye candy.add a dimmer, fan ,power supply and heatsink-all for about$150-$200

Exactly, these are the same thing, they just have an eye catching package and the retailer is jacking the price SKY high.

Nice, good info. I see that store also has LED drivers that work directly from a 12 volt DC source. Putting together a LED build powered by a solar array with batteries just got easier & more attractive. And it can be done with lamps using standard GU10, E27 & E14 bulb bases. I'd be inclined to use more lower power LEDs vice one of these all in one 100 watters. More flexibility with colour & redundancy that way. Good bye to converting AC to DC to drive LEDs. Retailers need to make money to stay in business, but there certainly are plenty of examples of gouging out there. Hopefully this will start putting a little more downward pressure on the prices of some of the fixtures available.

On another note, a reflector is never a bad thing. Depending on how the LEDs are arranged (hard to see on the photo), a properly designed reflector can help in a number of ways, if only to diffuse remnants of unfocused light in the desired direction.
