So I have been watching Bulk Reef Supply for a while and every time I think about ordering some of the netting I get reminded that I will pay more for shipping then the netting itself. So I figured Id wait till I needed some GFO or something and order it then. Well now there sold out. Anyone found this stuff anywhere else? Thanks.

It's originally meant for keeping birds out of gardens so check with garden supply stores maybe...

I have found it at Rona and Home Depot called bird netting in the garden centre.

Not at all! If I can do it...anyone can!
Just used screen door "kit"...cut the aluminum pieces to size, piece together with the corner inserts, use the ribbing to make the netting tight in the screen door and it's done! Fantastic cover, light passes right through, and it keeps "most" fish in!

Thanks. Ill go check our Homer De-pot tomorrow. Im not holding my breath though. For some reason they only stock stuff thats obscure and not needed.

I have tried Home depot, Rona, Co-op and Canadian tire and have never found the clear mesh. All they had was the green or black variety.

Bulk Reef Supply now carries the 1/2" and 1/4" clear mesh in 6.5' x 2.5' pre-cut pieces. Sadly they've been sold out for quite some time now as I've been wanting to build a mesh lid as well.

I have the darker colored actually...and it is sooo fine that it really does not affect the light passing through...I think it is 1/2" squares.

Im a little worried about 1/2" squares as the reason for the netting is a firefish is on my list of wants and there pretty tiny. Might just go right through one of them.

Yes, you're right, firefish would get through them, however you could layer it to create smaller squares. It is not "fishproof". Sometimes even the larger fish find a way through however it has stopped many jumpers in my tank. Better than nothing!;)

Theres an idea. Thanks. Ill give it a go maybe, see how it goes.

Found this at Canadian Tire or TSC here in London. 1/4" squares and grey in colour. No problems with blocking of light on this tank, 20 long with 4 T5's on an icecap 660 or on my 120 with 500w of MH.

It's been about 4 years since I bought the mesh and I'm 99% sure it was Canadian Tire in the garden section.

you can also use white wedding vail in those window screens kits also and the white doesn't effect light passing through
