just gauging some interest to see if anyone would want to join in on a group buy for EITHER of the following pumps; Reef Octopus Water Blasters or ATB Flowstar pumps. Both have received great reviews, are very efficient and very quiet.

Please tell me how many of which model you would be interested in and if you would be interested in the equivalent of the other manufacturers or not. Group buys are dependent on all of us buying one brand so its going to be either ATB's or Water blasters. Benefits of the Waterblasters over ATB is 3 year warranty.

both pumps do not operate very well in high head applications so please keep that in mind. I have read alot of people use them as closed loop pumps as well. Buying a model one up from what you need will mean you can use it to run reactors and what not off one pump by building a simple diy manifold with some valves.

please post on this thread. I will inquire with vendors as to pricing once we have 10 or so people/pumps interested. On MR i think they got a 20% discount on the ATB units. here is the thread i was reading - http://www.michiganreefers.com/forums/group-ordering-forum/107852-group-buy-atb-flow-star-pumps.html

Did you get much interest in this? I am looking into the 3200 Flowstar pump. Unfortunately I cant find any info on head loss or specific measurements of the pump....
