Hey...we are new to the 'saltwater world' and are wondering what the best saltwater test kit's are? We need to know what one is the best for our money. We have seen alot of different ones out on the market but would like to make an informed choice before purchasing.

Elos all the way or the new hanna colorimeters are pretty easy to use and very accurate.

I use nutrafin test kits. Your in St. Albert you can buy the replacement bottles at aquarium illusions and save a bunch on $ instead of buying new test kits every time. 2-3$ replacement bottle vs. $20 kit.

edit: nutrafin is not the best kit out there just cheaper in the long run.

Lamotte - labratory grade test kit.

Premium Aquatics carries them. Once you buy the inital kit you just need to get reagent refills which are much cheaper. Initially you have to fork over cash for all of the reusable test tubes/droppers, etc.

I have been an ELOS guy.. But have recently bought a API nitrate and phosphate kit, very easy to use also.

Just bought some Elos kits and a couple Hanna (phos & Alc) testers...

I've been using API and Hagen kits but I usually have to get my wife to help me there,...they're no fun to use when you're colour blind/deficient...

Api or Elos all ok imo..haven't tried the Hanna's yet, hear they are ok though.

API for nitrate
Salifer for Cal/Nitrate/Mg/Alk
ELOS for Mg

I like Salifer because they are easy to use
