Looking for a little info on any experience with this skimmer. I can get one for under $400 bills brand new but don't really know much about them so any input is greatly appreciated.

I run it (inline) on my 120 gal. The job is done right but quite frankly i got mine used for only $50.00 so your best is to shop around a bit!

At almost $800 shipped from the states then add custom, duties, broker fee & tax this would be a good deal as it is brand new never used.

I have to find one that will fit in my current sump or be external so that when I get the 250 rebuilt it will just slide over with me sump. Also wanting to switch to a big return pump (have been looking at last lights pump for sale) and build the returns all on one pump instead of 2.

This one, http://cgi.ebay.com/8-Recirculating-Protein-skimmer-400G-Octopus-RPS-3000-/320521210151?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa08d8927 by any chance?

Reef Octopus brand seems to have many different skimmer models. I have never heard any negative reviews on them.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me..

Same skimmer but different seller, might have a line on a Deltec AP702 as well.

I've been running an Octopus on my 240G for 5 years now, it's been great but I have had to replace the pump on it 3.5 years in.

Is it a recirc or in sump?

It's in sump, and I admittedly had to shave some inches off the base off as it has a large footprint.
My sump is a 5x2x2 but the baffles got in the way.

That is kind of why I would like to go with an external recirc.
