Noticed on the bucket everything in in pounds to gallons (1 pound of salt to 2.9 gal of water). If I don't have a scale what's the conversion to cups of salt to gallons? I'm mixing it into 20 gallons of water and the wife figured it to be about 12 cups of salt. I know IO salt is 10 cups to 20 gallons, the 12 cups doesn't seem quite right.

I use 1/2 cup per gallon. But the only REAL way to mix salt is with a good refractometer. This is really dependant on the salinity you wish to obtain. I mix for 1.025

+1, the only real way of doing it properly is with a refractometer.

Thats how I do it :) I always build the same amount of water and I used to measure till I got tired of seeing the same number over and over

For me H2Ocean mixed to 1.025 with 1/2 cup per gallon as per my refractometer I think. It's been a few months since I last used this salt. I just moved to Royal Nature from the Seachem Reef Salt.

+1 more

H2Ocean is made by the same guys that make Red Sea Coral Pro salt. I have tested the two side by side and have noticed absouletly no difference in anything. Both are awesome salts IMHO
