I have an opportunity to get my hands on a 250 ish gal tank for trade of one of my smaller tanks. Tank measures 8' x 2' x 2' and is located just off Southland Dr. In Calgary. I am going to go look at it on Friday to see how hard it will be to move. I am looking for 4-5 guys to help get it into my trailer and would do it on a weekend. If you would be willing to lend a hand let me know. I will set a day after I look at the tank and will be able to give at least a week notice.
Thanks in advance.

For sure dude , if we can get enough guys to do it on a Friday we will do it. It would be nice to have at least 6 guys or a couple more. It sounds like the tank is in the basement but the person with the tank said it could go out a window & then to the trailer or I might bring the F450.
Whoa, that's a big window!

That's how they got it in so it should go out the same way. I calculate the weight of the tank will be around 550 lbs.

I should be able to help out too, tentative on timing but with enough notice shouldn't be a problem.

So it is confirmed, I am picking up this tank. I looked at it yesterday, there is a window in the same room as the tank tat it came in threw. I should be able to get my trailer fairly close to the house. So the hard part would be to lift the tank up to the window one end at a time. Slide it threw & out, then up into the trailer.
So now when...... I am looking at the 4th or 5th of Febuary. I would like to have at a min of 6 guys including myself but a couple more would not hurt.
So what day would work for all that would be able to lend a hand?

All the best wishes on the move guys. That estimate is pretty close. My Bro-in-law and I moved my 240 gallon 6 footer with the two of us but that was pushing it a bit. Luckily Just straight into the house and straight down 5 foot of stairs into the basement. 6 plus guys is a far smarter way of doing it.

On the up side the tank does not weight 550lbs, after seeing the tank and measuring the glass thickness the tank weight estiment is 475 - 485 lbs.

I would have to say that I am leaning more toward Saturday around noon. Would rather move the tank out in the daylight.

Hey all, so I have to plan this tank move on Saturday the 5th around noon. I hope to be bringing down 1 maybe 2 of my boys and Brett, Kien & Josh have so generosly said that they will lend a hand. I would like to have a couple more fellows to help out though just to make it a little easier for all. I really don't want anyone to get hurt, I know what it is like to have a damaged back so I don't want it to happen to anyone else.
I have a plan of attack that would make lifting the tank to a bare minimum, just long enough to get it up off the stand and out the window. I do not want us to have to lift the whole tank at once at any point.
The tank is located just off Southland Drive , west side of MacLoad Tr.
If you are able to lead a helping hand shoot me a PM, I will send you the address by Friday.
And if we get enough fellows Kien can get his free tank ride
Thanks to all in advance, I really do appreciate every thing.

I have been working out in preparation for this event so you can count me as two, since I'm pretty sure two of me could fit in that tank.

I am afraid it will have to be on the Saturday because that is when the person that has the tank will be available, but thanks anywhos Tony. I am hoping a couple big guys like Mike (FishyFishy) & Corey (albertareefer) might be available.
