Well I woke up today and 1 of my hqi lights was not lit. Now when I look at the bulb it is glowing. I'm not sure how old the bulbs are. Now what do I change is it the bulb or is it the ballast?
The fixture is a 2 250 w hqi with pc in between them made by aquaspacelight. The pc light do not work and have been told by the previous owner said it need a ballast for them, I have not tested them as I do not have the bulbs.
Or do I now just change the fixture and go with something newer/better? maybe?
Thanks

Take the bulb out of the side that isn't working and pop it in the side that is working, if it fires up then you need to replace the ballast. As far as the PC's go, they only provide supplemental light for the halides. If you use something in the bluer spectrum such as a Phoenix or Ushio 14K, you don't need actinics to compensate and still get good growth. It sounds like your fixture has seen better days and If it were me I would be shopping for a replacement.
