I have one of these bio-denitrators and I'm wondering if anyone has converted one into something useful

not sure what to do with it, and not sure I can sell it...

That could make a sweet carbon reactor or even a NP Pellet reactor.

Ya, thought about carbon, although I have a different media reactor I was going to use. But, you might be on to something :)

It was the first thing that came to mind

I thought pretty much the only difference between these and their version of a calcium reactor were 1) the media you put in it, and 2) no CO2 recirc line. Converting to a calcium reactor would be a cinch - you already have one so that doesn't help YOU much but if you wanted to sell it that'd be one angle.

If you want to use it yourself I would say GFO, carbon, or biopellets. If you're not on the biopellets yet, come on, drink the koolaid already.

Ca reactor would be cool. What's a biopellet??

(In this case the koolaid has vodka in it.) Biopellet aka solid vodka aka polymeric based carbon dosing you put in a reactor, set to tumble and poof, they eat nitrates (and to a lesser degree phosphate as well).

Oh, no thanks, I don't keep nitrates :)

You asked for an idea what to do with it  They're cheaper than GFO..

So you're suggesting I use my denitrator as a, well, a denitrator? That's very creative :)

Turns out there is a conversion kit to turn it into a Ca reactor :)
