T5 bulb combinations

I'm looking to increase my growth in my SPS....I switched some Zucht New Coral Light II's (14000K) out for some Geissman Midday 6000K....

Anyone run the 6000K for growth....these are 2 bulbs in a 7 bulb setup

I hounestly don't think you are going to see any difference in growth rate and you are probably going to get poor coloring. The par on those bulbs are the same. Corals use blue and red spectrum for photsynthesis and you have just added a bunch of green and yellow which corals do not use for photosynthesis very well. if you wanted increased growth you should have just feed more. or increased overall par.

i used kz coralight new and old gen plus actinics... the new gen aka II is i relatively blue so on 4 bulb units (all i have ) i run 2 new gen and one old gen with a superblue... or one each coralight and a blue and purple..

running mh now but i got mad growth with those combos... even running mh now i got better growth with that than i am now...

whats the spectrum of natural sunlight?

please dont make me post another graph showing the actual spectrum of photosynthesis, i have posted it multiple times on this site showing at what spectrum corals photosynthesize at. most of natural sunlight dose not penetrate down very far and reds, yellows, and greens are quickly absorbed and do not even reach the corals. trees use sunlight to and they do not use green light either for photosyntheis, they reflect it. same deal with corals.
