i just hooked up an aquac remora skimmer to my 33 gallon tank, i found it funny how the skimmer seems to sit slightly sideways, the only thing holding it to the tank is the water outlet slide, am i missing something here?

You need to unscrew those balancing bolts that are on the bottom of the unit and up against the tank.....that should even it out. Other than that you are all set up

yeah i set the skimmer level on that axis, but the skimmer is tilted on other, "side to side". Maybe im just looking at it to closely. im going to try to shim it up with something tomorrow.

I have two of them and they both sit off camber slightly...you think they'd change that...meh

I had one of these several years ago. I think the reason it hangs off kilter is due to the weight of the pump hanging from the input tube, particularly if you have a mag 3 or bigger. Not a smart design IMO. I ended up cracking the body where the input tube is attached while trying to lift it off the tank for cleaning. It slipped, banged back down and the jolt/weight of the drop cracked the $%# thing. To be honest, I never liked that skimmer and am glad it's gone.

Yeah, I've noticed mine is off slightly too. Glad to know it's not just me :P. I agree that it's probably the weight of the pump.

I plan to eventually mount the pre-filter box with magnets so it isn't hanging off the skimmer, and it will make it easier to service. I don't think the tilt matters though... it's just a little annoying.
