Unless they happen while I'm farting I love a good surprise. Finally got around to some long overdue sump maintenance and to my surprise there happily swimming around is my Mandarin goby, this was a surprise in more than one way, the little guy has been MIA for over a year and the 2" skimmer intake has no screen, I have been throwing dead coral heads in there for some time to create a cryptic zone (no lighting either) and I guess it has produced enough pods to keep him going, he now has a home in the quarantine tank and looks no worse the wear, hope this is a sign of good things to come for my troubled reef.

So far in my very short reefing career the discovery of a thought-to-be-dead fishy is one of the greatest feelings. Awesome!

I just treated the little guy to a gourmet mysis meal, he looks pleased, my problem now is I replaced him about 8 months ago an now have nowhere to put him, I wonder how well he would fare in the 750, it has an ample pod population but also has large fish that enjoy little fish (and not in a good way)

Well, if you can't put him in the reef and can't put him in the FOWLR, I guess he just has to come and live with me.

Are you looking for a Mandarin? I think after what this guy has been thru I will keep him but if I can catch the one in the 90 I will part with that one to make room for this one.

Sure, I'll take one. And one day soon you'll be getting a Lunare Wrasse if he splashes water on me and the TV and the lights and the floor and the dog and the walls and the stereo one more time.
