One of our customers bought a new toy. I think he has too much money myself and... well.... it is an International but I cant help but give him credit. Its a nice truck. No work for this thing. He admitted its his new pickup, ya, for driving to work and that stuff. Back seat is bigger then my jeep, also has like a 18" DVD screen in the back. Its about 6.5' to the top of the grille. Its big. Haha at least I wont be saying "oh look another drug dealer" when i see it driving around town. Says its a bit sketchy on ice. haha I wonder why.

Pshhhht. He'll last maybe one day longer than the folks in Hummers in the coming zombie apocalypse. Tell him to man up, trade it in and get one of these instead:

http://conquestvehicles.com/

And they're Canadian too! And only about a half million dollars to buy.

I give him 2 days with that brush guard on the front. Ive never seen that conquest before. Wow I didnt realize you could get soo rich playing off peoples paranoia. But really.. That international gets 8MPG with a 9L Diesel Maxxforce. I cant imagine what those conquests get with a 6.7L ISB or a 6L V8. At 13000LBS id say they under rated that slightly. On the other hand if your buying a 500,000$ armored car gas mileage is probably the last thing on your mind.

Maybe he can invest in the environment someday, seeing he has so much to give.

Look at the exhaust stack on that b****.

nope to small and girly looking. that is a mid chassi so a class 6 truck, I want a full class 8 (high way tractor) the mid chassis are a nich market and very expensive where you can pick up a used volvo 780 or 880 for about 15 to 20K and put about 5K into it and you have a tower that will seat 6 and tow 80,000 lbs if you want. to get into a used mid chassi you are looking at at least 80K. plus the class 8 will get 12 to 14 mpg not 8.

there is one of thoes international sports chassis running around kamloops also.

Ok well I hope you dont have your heart set on 12 to 14MPG but I agree with your theory. We had a guy in last week, exact sort of setup your talking about. Had a sweet air ride 5thwheel hitch and a monster trailer. Was a sharp looking setup. Just had Pleasure use only decals on the side of the truck. Can skip right by the scales with that for some reason. I wouldnt turn one of those trucks away if they were giving them out though.

you need more than a decal to skip buy scales, it has to be regestered as a RV or a private truck. so no longer comercial.

as for the milage lots of class 8s are getting 12+ bob tailing, with a 18K trailer it will hardly changes.

Which ones??? I work at a Mack/Volvo dealer and havent heard those numbers before... Maybe 10 or 11 out of some of the old D12C. Soon as 02 hit and EGR started in on these things mileage like that doesnt really exist anymore. Anything in the 15 or 16L wont see any higher then 8 bobtailing. Even the D13F's CF is running with the tiny daycabs arnt getting those numbers. But again lots of EGR and now catalysed DPF hurts mileage too. Ive heard some of the old detroits would get around 11 but then your getting pretty old then. One of the old V92's I think or an early 60 series.

most of the people running them are using volvo 630's 770's ect. they are all reporting 12 as an average empty. my buddy has a KW (comercial driver) and he is getting 12.5 bobtailing in the mountains.

8 bobtailing most guys I talk to are getting that hauling 60K + lbs. I was talking to a couple last night when I went to have coffee with my buddy and they said if they had a truck that got 8 empty they would return it as theres something wrong with it and they have never seen a truck get under 11 bobtailing unless there was something wrong or the driver was an idiot.

Well if you can get that out of a volvo or any class 8 truck for that matter dont get rid of it and I would love to see it. Never seen those numbers here. Fleet or Owner operator.
