SO 48 hours ago I came home with a maroon clown for my rose BTA. One problem....no rose to be found. Then I recalled that my Tunze Stream didn't normally have a coating of jelly around the intake.....hmm, guess I found the rose.
Happily, I'm able to report I have introduced the clown to the jelly rose, and here they are 48 hours later.

Wow Brad, close call! Maybe the clown will nurse it back to health

How is it anemones find powerheads so well? Even those located at the top of the tank. They must have suicidal tendancies

Nice maroon Brad, I just love my pair. Mine opened up a critter keeper to get her anemone out (it was her favorite part of the split I guess)...

Em, I think maroons are my favorite clowns. This one is really cute. It can actualy swim between the squares of the eggcrate in the tank. I might consider pairing some maroons in the future.
The anemone looks like it will heal fine now that it has it's own space. It ate a big chunk of prawn today, so that's a good sign.

Brad, I thought you were against clowns? Have you warmed up to them now?

Brad, did this happen before or after you moved the anemone to the 40?

The Stream accident or the clown?

Did that happen after you moved it to the 40 or did you move it to the 40 because it hit the Steam?

Sam, I moved it after it hit the stream. It was completely sucked into the intake, so the whole assembly went into the partitioned side of the 40. The only thing in the 40 to get stuck on is a large foam block. It's continueing to look better, and eating every day.

Wow. That's amazing that it survived then. So you just dumped the pump into the 40 and it freed itself on its own?

Sam, the front intake assembly comes off the pump, so yes, I put that in there. It didn't free itself completely, so I spent about 2 hours with little plastic spoons getting the rest out of the slots. Lots of fun

Lucky for you and your BTA. Ya gotta love a happy ending  The weekend before last I was setting up a certain 155 Gal bowfront and had my LTA in a bag. Victor suggested putting it in the sump to acclimate. I thought since it was on the one side of the skimmer it would be alright.
That's when I heard the noise. I rushed to the tank, shut off the pump and looked to see what damage had been done. The bag had been ripped open at the bottom and emptied of water and a small piece of the base of the anemone was in the bulkhead. Acclimation over. Happy to say it is doing great in it's new home.
