Hi Willie. Over the years I have kept tangs in tanks ranging from 9ft to a minimum of 6 feet.
Tangs are best added in the dark and if you can do so move the rock where the more dominant tangs live at night so they are more worried about their housing than the added intruder. Keep the lights off for the next 24 hours to allow the newbie to settle.
Avoid approaching the tank, or looking for the tang with a flashlight as all the reefer is doing is major stressing the new fish.

Sadly powder blue tangs and achilles tanks are almost impossible to keep. With so many other choices like A.japonica (powder brown tang) I have come to the opinion that they are best left in the ocean.

Even though you have the minimum size tank for keeping tangs, (6 feet), and add them with the least chance of warfare, you are faced with the nature of these fish.
Most of them get sick and die within a few months of adding them to your tank ofter taking a few of their tank mates with them.
