Very nice!

If you want to imbed the picture itself, right-click on the picture and select "Properties." You should be able to highlight the URL ("Address") for the picture, copy, and then you can paste that into a [ img ] {insert URL here} [ /img ] tag in your post. If there is any text following the ".jpg" extension just discard that, I'm not sure what that is but I don't think you need it, you just need the "http://blahblahblah.jpg" part. Hope this helps!

So the way I see it then, you can post pictures without having to have a directory (or website) at your ISP. You can just upload them to the pictures forum, and link to them there

Seth, on the right, is that a DIY 500W halogen fixture converted into a 150W DE halide enclosure?

Seth

kuatto- the regent fixture costed like 15 bucks at homedepot. You can find it in the outdoor security light section. I think walmart also carries it and it's cheaper at wallmart, like 13 bucks. Not expensive. The reflector kinda sucks though but better than nothing I guess.

Could you post some details on this mod. Like mainly what were the parts you needed, and where you got them. Most importantly was it a lot cheaper than just buying a MH pendant

Hi Bob_I, the parts you need are:

150W bulb ~$70
150W ballast $50 (make sure it runs doubled ended bulbs, mine was electronic so I had no problems)
150W bulb socket ~$10
Regent Pendent $15
Wiring and stuff $5

Total ~$150

I got the ballast USED so that shaved off a few dollars. If you can't find a used one, they're usually around $110. Also because this was my first lighting DIY project, I had to buy the wires and those marrette connector things.

I got the bulb from like petsupplyliquidator but I would recomment getting bulbs from hellolights.com. Got the ballast of someone on the net. Socket you can find at hellolights.com. Pendent and wiring and stuff at home depot.

If you buy a retail pendent, its going to cost you around $400 bucks. DIY you can probably do it for $200 or less. But retail pendents have better reflectors and better design.

That is great, but last I looked Hellolights would not ship to Canada, and it is the socket that would hold me up. :frown:

Oh they don't ship to Canada? I bought mine off the guy who sold me the ballast so I didn't know. Try searching around reefcentral or nano-reef.com or try petsupplyliquidator.com

Bob, I think you can get the sockets from premiumaquatics.com.

The tank looks very nice, but you have not said what size it is. I am thinking it might be a 20H. Am I right
