Frag Swap?

I was thinking of hosting a Frag Swap at my place on Sunday December 12.. a couple of hours in the afternoon. IF there is any interest.

I went to the one about a month ago with Lori.. and it was a blast and an awesome venue to swap some frags, or buy some nice local corals reasonably priced.

If there is interest, i could set up a bin of heated water to float the bags in.. and furnish some munchies.


If there is interest what I would do is open a thread for people to post pics of what they are bringing ( doesnt need to be the frag but could be of the mother colony) cause as we all know.. corals arent happy in their bags. The pictures would be tagged by the users name and then numbered.. IE Shelley #6.. and then the bag the coral is placed in numbered the same.

I would have a laptop opened to the thread so anyone could look at the pictures..

Lemme know.. if were going to do this we need to get some frags started!!

I had one at my place last month, we did a blind swap where people brought frags and dropped them in one of my tanks to float, at the end of the night we all grabbed something we didn't bring:) I also handed out numbers and gad s draw at the end of the night where the winner walked out with a large pipecoral:) good way to meet other reefers:) cheers

LOL omg a tarp...well on TV they always boil lots of water, I have a pot and lots of RO/DI always made up. Oh and two boxes of gloves. So I guess were ready!

Awesome!! It's going to be fun. How many of you have already started frags? I made some blue palys today, some wicked orange digi with bright green tips, a couple of meteor shower cyphastrea, some yellow with purple polyp montis, sunset montis, candlelight acros, more rics, and I'm out of frag plugs lol

i'm in, and as it tells, if you cant make it, we will have open house in Feb. 2010, inclouding a raffel, rain ore snow,there will be a BBQ and lets se what more we can fit in a day

reservations can be made for a sleepover in front of our 350 gal display !!

almost like vancouver aquariums, only not big wale, ore other local fish.
when somone has a nice salmon to put on the BBQ great.

When I moved the tank this summer a few little pieces broke off of the colonies. I didn't want to loose them so I glued them on my overflows. Now I have overflows with those, superman and rainbow monties.

green zoo (about 6 frags) - minimum 8 buttons, if not way more
pink stylo (about 20) - 1 inch and a few of 2 to 3 inch
pink birds N (about 20) 1 and 2 inch
orange monty (about 25) - big - 3 inch+
green stylo (about 10 to 15) - 1 and 2 inch
green fuzzy mushroom, rock of 7 inches covered with it
pink/orange picolopora (about 15) 1 inch
lime green candycane (about 4) minimum 3 if not 5 polyps
green/pink/brownish candycane (about 4) minimum 3 if not 5 polyps
hammer head (about 3)
a blue milly colony of about 3 to 4 inches in diameter (picture still to put up)

Thanks for hosting. Great to see you and everyone once again. As always your tanks are unbelievable. Even with the hour and a half traffic jam on the malahat on the way home, it was well worth the trip down island. I should have brought more cash though. There was so much nice coral there but your acans did me in. The meteor shower and montis are really nice but I love the acans. I;ll see everyone at the next one in February. I should have some tri colour mini maxi carpets ready to go by then.
