I'm not entirely sure, tho our tank sat for months with just the 3 fish (in 120g) a coral beauty, small foxface and a clown and then 2 weeks ago we added 6 tiny chromis and a mandarin, could have triggered it. One of the chromis was wounded a couple of days ago and went MIA sooo.... maybe? The tank is nearly 2 years old, I would have thought it would handle it better but who knows... I've got at least 2 giant cukes in there, maybe one kicked it?

*so far* tonight I see everybody but the mandarin still swimming, it's still suuper cloudy but we did a 35g w/c. I'll have to post pics.

This pic is from last night - the tank is WAY less cloudy today, just hazey.... and so far all of my fish are still alive, crazy!

So how are things ? That looks like my tank some time ago after someone dumped some stuff in the tank just add some red coloring, but I lost everything. No clams or such ? I'd go with the cucumber theory. Hope all is well.

Did it just go cloudy like that all of a sudden? Do you run a skimmer or carbon?

That almost looks like something spawned in the tank.

Good luck!

Ya, that isn't from a chromis going missing!! Either some bacterial bloom or as Tony mentioned, a spawning.

Agreed! Although the tank looks as if it hasn't been "the cleanest" in a long time, which could have a lot to do with the high nitrate. You could easily have more than one significant thing going on.

No, you're right the tank has been suffering from summer neglect and I'm still having issues with cyano, but this is a pic from tonight. I'm still leaning towards bacterial bloom, unless there is something very LARGE hiding in my tank that would spawn like that?
All fish still kicking - one chromis looks a little beat up today tho, I think I have a big crab in there :(

I run both carbon in the sump and a vertex 180.

edit: no, tiny people don't live in my tank, that is the reflection from the tv lol

It looks a lot better today! Btw, those Chromis look really nice in your tank.

Thanks Myka, I really like the chromis, they are such an active little school :)
