Hey all! Just wondering what you engineering types think about the structural integrity of my stand! The boxes of the stand are held to each 4X4 by three stainless 2.5" screws and one 4" screw. Should I add a couple 2x4's along the back and side on the inside of the stand connecting the two boxes? I built the stand like this because i wanted the pedastal look. So i would like to keep the outside the way it is.

when the bomb goes off that thing will be the only thing standing lol overall i think youll be fine with some minor adjustments:)

would suggest a couple things maybe add some braces on the top 2x4 is fine
add a 3/4 sheet of plywood to the top or something similar in thickness
i would also brace the bottom and cover it up so its not bare floor

you dont need very large or heavy lumber for the framing small piecs like 2x4 and 2x6 can be all you need if its tied in right when everything is together it should hold most weight of anything you could ask.take in consideration the weight and size of your stand when its done and if youd ever want to modify it or move it it woulkd be difficult:)

Lol thanks Reefwars! Yeah i went with the 4x4 because thats what i had laying around the garage! The total cost i have invested in the stand is 15$ for the cabinet quality plywood to sheet it! What do you mean add 2x4's to the top Like in between the 4x4's?

in between the 2x4's on the face and back then i would add a sheet of ply to the top the thicker the better will help keep strees off your screws and add more support to the tank, and keep the bottom of the tank sitting level.dont forget to level your stand before its filled with water as its quite hard after.hope it helps:)

Looks like it should hold the truck that delivered your tank.
