So as most of you know... I need a T5 Fixture. I cant find one... it seems... used. I am not a "high end" customer as working on a budget. Can anyone give me input on best bang for your buck fixtures? I want quality... new or used... 4 Or 6 Bulbs and 48".

Try E-bay for an Odyssey fixture, that is where I found mine and they are the same fixture that Kevin @ Red Coral has on some of his coral tanks.

I agree with the ebay thing ... I bought 2 lights from this guy topdogseller and have had no problems with them .... here is a link to the 48" 216 watt setup i bought.

The lights work great, so far ... you get what you pay for indeed .. but these are actually not to bad at all, and a few hundred cheaper then others of comparable bulb/wattage. Good luck.

This is the same seller and the exact light I bought (4 of them) for a fraction of the price of any where else and have had zero issue's. The bulbs are not great but will work for 6 months or so.

What's your budget? That might help people recommend a fixture. Are you opposed to putting something together yourself? You could get better components that way

I am not very "electrically inclined" if you know what I mean.

Is putting your own light together very difficult.... or safe for the rookie?

with T5's it's really quite easy. I put together a 48" T5/Mh combo (which is still for sale incidently) myself and it really is not that difficult.
