So I'm trying to get a larger sump installed for my Solana. it can't be drilled as it is completely stocked and all the research that I looked into, no one has drilled the tank with water in it yet.

so

I was wondering if any body has any feed back on this setup. I found this simple solution for an overflow.

so I was thinking of hanging this on the back on the tank in the first or second chamber, straddling the back of the tank.

I would then run the pipe down towards the new sump, whether it enters back through the stock drilled holes( where the mess of wires are going in to the tank), or I drill out and have the sump stick out the back of the
stand.

Now the stock pump for the solana is 396gph, would you think some 3/4" pipe woudl do the trick of supporting the tanks flow to and from the tank?

Thank in advance

I've seen one on another members tank, it worked really well and is what i'm planning on doing when I get my sump set up.

I just realized I won't be able to do this without a second return pump rated a little over the stock solana pump. As the return water line would have to drop back into the 3rd chamber and from there pumped back into the display.
There was a link here before that had head loss calculations, anybody know where I might be able to find that?
