In an effort to stand behind a product we support, use, and distribute, we have been running a test for awhile.

We have multiple coral systems running with different dosing regimes depending on the corals they house.

On one of our last Fiji orders we set aside two Bink Birdsnests in two seperate systems. Amoungst other dosing regimes, in one system we use the Fauna Marin Ultra Organic and in one system we do not dose it.

Can you see the difference?

Since Lighting, Salt, Parameters, and dosing regimes can play a role in colouration of corals.

Some more info on the two systems;

Both tanks are run with ATI Powermodules with the same mix of Daylight, Blue Plus and Actinic over the tanks.

Both thanks use Royal Nature Salt.

Both thanks maintain a constant salinity of 1.025 with the aid of Tunze Osmolators.

Both tanks run the Fauna Marin Balling System with parameters of;
Calcium - 400-420
Alkalinity - 8.2-8.5
Magnesium - 1350

Both Systems maintain a Redox of - 400-425

Both systems run Fauna Marin CarbL and Ultra Power Phos.

Differences in the two systems;

System 1, with the brighter Pink Birds Nest, doses Ultra Organic manually daily.

System 1 is 500g and System 2 is 800g.

System 1 runs and MR-6 and System 2 runs an ORCA Pro II.

Both tanks have the same overall flow, but System 1 uses a closed loop with a hammer head and System 2 uses a combination of MP10's, Tunzes and Koralias to achieve the same flow rate.

Specifically, we have found that Ultra Organic has had by far the most noticable effect on our corals that were pink aka birdnest, pocillopora and stylos.
This is in no way a perfect test, but it's pretty close.

If you like the look of that Crazy Pink Birdsnest, give Kelly at "The Reef Shoppe" a call. He has literally that exact coral instock.
Oh and don't forget to pick up a container of Organic while you are there too ;)
