So I have been lurking in the corners of canreef and have admired many peoples tanks and quietly learned a thing or two (or a bazillion, which is a real number).

This is my first "real" tank, and by that I mean a tank which I didn't just impulsively buy without knowing anything about anything. It is a 90 gallon (but reversed) and has a 33 gallon sump under her skirt. Lighting is a 6 bulb tek and everything is pretty standard. Already I wish I had done a few things differently, and in the past I have made every newby mistake in the books.

Right now it is still rather empty (which is awesome) as it is pretty much everything from my old 33 gallon tank and hopefully will grow in.

Enough jabbering, here she is:

And the whole tank

As you can see, most of everything is still only frags. Maybe I will take more photos when all of the lights are on, as I only had the actinics going. It will be a while before it is full of corals and fishies, but as we all know this isn't a cheap hobby.

Thanks for lookin'.

Nice touch with the black sand. Always wanted to try that, but decided on bare bottom.

Nice tank. Fits the room well. I could imagine sitting down with a nice book and having the aquarium as a distraction.

I do this pretty much on a daily basis! Immediately behind the tank I have a little love seat, and it is my favorite spot on the whole tank. Really easy to get comfortable and press my nose against the glass. That and the tank offers some decent light to read by!

Yeah, impressive looking tank. Wish I had the room for something larger than my 55gal. What substrate are you using?

I'm just using a decorative layer of black aragonite sand. It was kind of annoying to get a hold of it, but I am glad I did.

I got a little bored today, and snapped a few photos I thought I might as well share 'em! I took photos of a lot of my frags so that I can see how much they have grown later on.

Here is a photo of my eventual zoa "forest" rock. It is only frags for now, but they will grow in. When they do, I think it will be a pretty cool forest!

A couple of my birdsnest frags

(if you look really closely and tilt your head just so you can see that it has grown an itty bit! I am a sps noob, so I am pretty happy I haven't killed anything yet!)

And a photo of my galaxea, I think this is the first time I have EVER been able to get a photo of this little guy in focus. So I had to keep it.

And my newest addition, and I am pretty stoked about it. If you look closely you can see the little bandit eyes of an acro crab. I haven't decided where it's final location will be. It does look killer against the black sand though!

Anyways, thanks for looking :)

Nice tank. The black sand looks nice. Should look pretty nasty once all those frags grow.

Thanks everyone, I am pretty pumped about my tank right now. Hopefully it is a little more stable than my old tank (which it should be considering that there is a lot of improvements over the old one).
