Man I hate it when you say your going to pick something up then the guy who posted it never returns your messages or has given something you wanted to someone else. IF YOU SAY SOMEONE CAN HAVE SOMETHING THEN LET THEM KNOW AND THEN SAVE IT FOR THEM UNLESS THEY MESSAGE YOU TO SAY THEY DON"T WANT IT AND KEEP IN TOUCH.

I so agree with the above statement!! I have been very lucky everyone that I had the pleasure of dealing with have been awesome. Kien, Tai, Doug, Carmen, Levi, Trina & of coarse Kevin just to name a few, A+++++++++++++++ all around.

There's also the flip side to this. I've sat will a seller whom I bought something from and she agreed to bring the stuff she was selling into town for a couple of people (live items) to meet with them and save them the drive. Ended up being no shows, not even a call. You really are taking a small chance on private sales here, its not quite e-bay. I've also seen people pay for something and not receive what they paid for, so I guess you can be thankful for that. In all the years on this board I must say that I've never been burnt by anybody and I've never let anyone down as I do care about my reputation.

How about paying for something, being promised that she will catch the fish and deliver it to you the next day, but never does and eventually disconnects her phone number so you can't even call her anymore..

Sorry to hear. I don't want to judge whoever the original poster pointing at but it is two way streets especially when selling live stock. As seller, you hold and hold and buyer never show up. As buyer, seller agree to hold and never got back because they already sell to some one else. It is canreef, some is bad and some is very good :-)

Actually it is the same for dry stock. WTH

One of the funniest is when you tell someone "yes it is still for sale but I'm not selling it to you". I did that to someone and my PM box got filled with insane messages in 2 days. Glad I never gave them my phone number. One of the reasons that person eventually got all 3 of themselves banned from this site.

This goes two ways. Don't forget about no shows when you promise to hold something for someone. It's happened so many times to me and you push off other plans to help a person out.

I hate it when a site says they will deliver to you and to email them with what you want and they accept paypal, and then when you make the request to get something specific in, they either don't tell you it has come in, or when it does come in (on the third request) they say they will deliver it to you themselves as they have to drive through your area, but then cancel that the day before arrangements are made, and don't want to accept a paypal payment and delivery option that is noted on their own darn website.
Then, when you know you can travel the few hours up there, and you still want that fish, they don't want to get it for you because it is you fault you didn't get it the last time, despite specifying how you wanted it.
Very frustrating.

I so agree to, if you say you are coming to pick up something BE THERE or at the least call the seller asap to make other plans.

I have only been burned once by a member who sold me a Mag 36 pump with a broken impeller for $120, let me tell you I was ****ed off.

feel a little bad doing it but after a few no shows (even when giving stuff away), unless I know the person, it's first come first served.

It is a little different when you know the person and I do agree to the first come first serve to some extent.

It's like placing a newspaper ad or bargain finder ad, 90% of those who say they'll take it 'for sure' never show up. I guess that's their way of being nice, but it's actually worse as you tell anyone else that it's been sold.

i have nothing that anyone would want but i do agree with the frustrations best thing to do is not let it get to you put the person on your ignore list. its like my customers i had a lady that was locked out of her house i told her on the phone 40$ she says coem open it so i do after the door is opened she says" well thats not worth 40$ all you get is 20 if you dont liek it take me to court...." now what do you say to that the door is open your screwed

all i know is that i will always treat ppl that deal with me with the respect i expect to get back. i give everyone a chance. btw two weeks later the lady had crazy glue in her lock:)

I hear you there Jeff, all my small jobs I do know for cash are paid up front now. Had a dude that tried to do the same thing that your lady did to you. I just asked him if it would be worth have all his teeth knocked out instead of paying me what was agreed :twised: I got paid

I agree. Once you agree on a deal, it should be carried through, by both sides.
You not only pay for the brawn on a job, you pay for the expertise and knowledge of the person doing said job. Who by the way did not learn everything overnight.

Just thought I would jump on this band wagon. I really HATE when some one tells you that they will sell something to you and then back out to sell it to someone else. If you give your word to someone that what your selling is sold to you then leave it at that. If you cant trust a persons word, than what can you trust. I was brought up to believe that what you say/act in life is all you have.... I guess some people a brought up different then the rest of us.....
