I will be getting two battery backup systems. I need each of them to run one Tunze 6065 or similar non-controllable powerhead for at least 12 hours and preferably 24 hours. I will keep one battery backup at work hooked up to my computer for use there in case of a brief power outage and one at home hooked up to the Tunze. If there is a blackout at home lasting more than 12 to 24 hours I will swap the battery backups between work and home as long as there is power at work to keep the thing recharged.

A home generator is out for me given the cost and maintenance requirements as well as the electrocution risk when small kids are around.

I have looked at different units, here are some choices:

Bulk Reef Supply Power Head Battery Backup 1200

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/products/pumps-and-plumbing/battery-back-up-systems/power-head-battery-back-up-1200-8-hour.html

It doesn't meet the 12-hour requirement, it is most likely a re-branded unit originally intended for computers, any ideas what brand this one really is?

A few different UPS's I have seen recommended on the web:

Also APC SmartUPS seems to be recommended a lot.

Just wondering what sorts of UPS people are using and how long a run time they are getting off them.
