I just went and picked up a piece of liverock in my tank and about ten to fifteen little centipede type things fell to the bottom of the tank. They were flesh colored with a little bit of black in the center. Do you guys or gals know what they are and is it OK to have that many under one rock?

Ben, those are Bristle worms. They're good.

How did I get them and what role do they play in the tanks ecosystem?

Good news that are are fine.

Thanks

They came in on your LR most likely and clean up detrius. Wastes and such. If a snail dies or something else these guys will clean the mess up before it can turn into ammonia. Throw a piece of clam or scallop in your tank after lights out. then watch the worms appear. smile.gif

What about spaghetti worms? I've got quite a few of those. Any benefit to keep those in the sandbed?
