Hey, are those dates backwards? Normally the color change goes the other way. Do you figure the actinic sup lighting helped create this nice color change?

I like the new color way better. Maybe you should consider making a frag tank, and starting a small business on the side. With those colors, you are bound to attract a lot of people

The dates are correct. The coral was from a new shipment and hadn't had a chance to color up in their holding tank yet. So I placed it directly under my pendant high in the tank that has a photoperiod of 12 hours a day. Of course, if we put this coral in someone else's tank, it could turn another color. I don't know if the Actinics have a role. It might not in this case because the actinic is placed at the front of the tank but its the top of the coral that is changing colors.

I think J&L had something like this a while ago and it also colored up in their tank and then they labelled it as plum color acro, put it on their New and Noteworthy page and it was sold right away. I remember that because I wanted to buy it but someone else got it first.

Thanks all. I lucked out with this piece. I've been waiting a long time to get something that'll be solid purple. Now, I have exactly what I wanted. Since Jamie likes a piece of this, that means I finally have found something of value that I can use to trade for some of his awesome pieces! Woohoo, finally I have some trading power!

Yeah, that is one chubby starfish. I have some comparison pics with another starfish that is skinny. I'll post that later.
