why wouldn't you just take it with the aquapod?

FYI, these are no longer being produced and VERY hard to come by.

In any case, I have 2 of these.

Asking 160 each.
which is less than half of what they cost new.

Cheaper, yes...especially if your time is worth nothing.
But a better product?

The sunpod has 2 fans, one in and one out.
It has 2 sets of independantly controlled 4 leds (8 in total) and looks a heck of a lot nicer to boot.

Have fun doing your diy....lol
but you'll wind up having a tank that looks, well, diy.

Hey, some poeple can even diy and make it look better than those mass produced items...

I have a diy light over my display right now, it looks like hell but works great...(note - I hate it).

I was merely pointing out that while clearly you ca build a similar light for cheaper on your own, you get what you pay for.

And thats the cliche for the day.

What are you putting in the tank that needs such lighting?
I thought you were doing a seahorse tank with no corals.

If you have a constructive opinion, great, that is what the forum is for, if someone is obviously excited about the hobby show some restraint with some of the "burn" comments. Relax and have a good time with this forum, it is a lot better than some others out there.

hmmm...
I think you have misconstrued my comments here.

I only meant, tongue in cheek that the poster has no firm idea of what HER tank is going to be in it's final stages and not that the poster has no clue what she is doing.

I know this from several question/answer periods over pm in addition to board activity.

Other than that, I think there are 2 very relevant sides to the DIY discussion here, I hope this post is not deemed in the "burn" category...I mean no offense to anyone.
