I wonder what it is?

Oh look, it's my new Bubble Magus 150 PRO skimmer.

The Tunze 9010 just wasn't doing the job on the 90g anymore. Better suited to a bit smaller bio-load, so, it's being moved to the 33g frag tank.

The instructions aren't very good. The Chinese to English sucks. No worries though, the skimmer was pretty simple to set up. Here it is with the pump installed and ready to go.

Five minutes running with a water/vinegar solution. It runs pretty quiet and produces nice foam. Hope it does the job.

I am quite pleased with this skimmer. For a lower-priced skimmer it certainly does a decent job. Less than 24 hours after setup and it's already pulling considerably more skimmate than the Tunze did.

You lucky dog you!

My UPS guy isn't as kind. When my BRS shipment arrived recently it was delivered to the BACKYARD of the vacant townhouse next to me. Took me a while to sort that out but when I finally found the big box I was at least as happy as you are haha.

I don't have a nice UPS guy either. He kicks my packages off the truck and tells me I can't open them to check for damage before I accept them. Its either take it or leave it.

Good score tho, keep us posted on its fabulousness!

I would get his name and phone the company and report him right in front of him. I am nasty and do not put up with that kind of stuff... I would also advise his boss that he was no longer welcome to deliver packages to me and they would have to find someone else to send out.. You know they have to deliver the package to you and if they do not they have to pay for it to be replaced.

Sorry to interupt but that is one nice skimmer..

Progressive Reef in the interior is the closest Bubble Magus dealer to us.

I'm sure you're right. It seems to be working fine. Nice small bubbles and thick foam. The BM's may not be the most skookum skimmers on the market, but they are reasonably well-built and definitely skim well. For $350 how can you go wrong?

they are a very good bang for your buck! they probably out perform 75% of skimmers in their price range IMO

The new skimmer has been running for 5 days now and I must say I am quite impressed with it. Here are the pros and cons I've found so far:

PROS: small footprint
inexpensive
quiet
skims well (I'm getting nearly twice as much skimmate as I was with
the Tunze)
easy to adjust water level

CONS: although easy to clean, the cup is difficult to remove: requires a good
pull; perhaps it will loosen up a little after more use

The new skimmer has been running for over 2 weeks now and it really does deliver as advertised. Easy to use and produces skimmate at twice the amount of my old Tunze. I'm not ready to throw out my MR-3 Beckett on the 225g but for my 90g the Bubble Magus is great.
