Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce you all to a fund raising event that is for The Foundation Fighting Blindness. I have been involved for the last 9 yrs as a fund raiser and this year, being my 10th I have taking on the roll of coordinator for the Red Deer area.

This event is a motorcycle event open to every level of rider and every make of bike. This years event is being held at the Stoney Nakota Resort & Casino, 30 min west of Calgary on June 12 / 2010. There will be many thing's to take in such as a show & shine, bike rodeo game, dunk tank, vendor booth, Canadian Chaos Stunt Team, Harley Davidson demo rides, silent auction and beer garden's. There will be entertainment provided by Fist Full Of Blue's and our headliner's CHILLIWACK. Lot's of great food, people and fun for the whole family.

If you would like to attend the event you can simply raise $50 or donate $50 at the event and you are in for the day. If you would like to have a donation book get in contact with me and I will get you the info where to pick one up or I can send one to you.

A little back ground info on the event.

Ride For Sight is the single largest private fund raising initiative for vision research in the world. Over the year's, Ride For Sight has grown from a small local fund raising event to a national charity which raises more then $1 million annually. Ride For Sight gives 100% of donations to the Foundation Fighting Blindness & 100% of the money raised in Alberta STAYS in Alberta to fund our researcher's. More info can be found at the following website:

http://www.rideforsight.com/alberta.php

I fell very strongly about this event because eye disease can hit anyone & anytime at any age of life right out of the blue. I know without my eye sight my career would be over and would not be able to enjoy the little thing's in life like riding, seeing my kids / grandkid's grow up and of coarse reefing.

If you would like to make a donation's please use my personal sponsorship page here :

http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=806881

Any amount of donation from as little as $5 help's greatly. If you need more info e-mail me at grizzwelding@platinum.ca

Thanks to all who take the time to read this. And a huge THANKS to all who make a donation.

This is an important cause as without sight none of us would be in this great hobby.

I feel it is not only important to contribute to The Foundation for Fighting Blindness but also to keep this thread alive.

For the month of MAY anyone that makes a purchase of 2+ Zoanthid frags online or in store and mentions "The Foundation for Fighting Blindness" or "Ride for Sight"; Red Coral will donate $5.00 to this great cause. We would then encourage anyone doing so to post here that they contributed to donating $5.00 to the The Foundation for Fighting Blindness and will thus keep this thread alive.

(We are stocked full of fantastic Zoa frags with more on the way)

I would say that there was some where in the neighborhood of 300 - 400 bike's that came out to the event. I will post a few picture's that the wife and I took from a helicopter that flew us over the event.
