My POS SPS 90 Gallon sprang a small pin hole leak some where. Most likely sealing seem. Dry around the bulb heads. I know it was POS when I bought it. Helping a friend. I will enjoy busting this tank apart later.

I do not have the funs or time to get my 280 gallon going at this time.

I have my decommissioned 90 gallon Old Faithful. She seen some better day going to need a reseal. I figure if I am going that far I might as well punch 2 more 1" holes. Make it Herbie still and return in the over flow. Plans is to recommission her.

The help I need is to build a new stand to fit my supper sump. I have the materials to build it but not the space or tools to do so. I need to make some really straight cuts. the only skill in a skill saw is keeping your fingers . If I had the space and tools it would be almost done buy now . So I am looking for someone to help build with wood working tools. Mitre saw, table saw, Brad nailer stuff like that.

Also need help cutting 3/8 glass for the over flow.

Tonight job is to remove the old over flow and silicone.

Well the silicone is removed. It looks like it is not going to be a simple reseal. As i was removing the silicone I noticed the bottom pane is not centered. Back pane bottom centerer no silicone and same with the right pane bottom (corner to corner). Water under the silicone. Dam manufactured tanks. I will be busting this tank apart and rebuild. I hate removing the black plastic trim and cleaning silicone. I going to stop for now. Punch some holes tomorrow Today! Just in case the bottom pane cracks, then bust it apart.

The good news the leak looks like it has salt creep and stopped leaking for now. So it give me some time. Crossing fingers.

I did some work to day. busted the tank a part. Had to cut the plate trim off. There was more silcone holding the trim on then the whole tank. Here are some pic's.

Murphy has just popped his head out again! Drilling my last hole in the center hole. the pane chipped out big. Here are some pic's. Most likely I can not us this bottom pane. I have a spare piece of glass, but it has to be cut, and drilled. It is L48XW24. So I could get the bottom pane and the top bracing out of it.

The chip doesn't look too bad in the photo .. ? I think if the bulkhead covers it you'd still be OK. Although I guess if you have a spare piece anyhow then there's no harm in starting over.

Having drilled my share of pieces over the years, one thing I wish I had at my disposal was a drill press.

Where the chip out is on the dry side. I have talked to another reefer. He said the same. I am tempded. I need to fined a place that cuts glass and how long it would take them.

well I got some work done. During the day I was looking for a glass shop that would help me out. ya right a week cut wait. I will try again tomorrow. I was looking at the bottom pane debating to us it. Something still bothered me. I measured the width 16 3/4" the the to side panes 17" width. Now wounder It had a 1/4" silicone gap at the front. I checked my stock pill of glass. I have a L47XW17 pane of glass that is smoked. I Figgured why not no one is going to see it with sand over it. I drilled and assembled the main part of the tank.

When I was assembling I bumped the back pane against the 280 stand on the corner. I cracked so my spare L48"xW24" pane is used for the back. The cracked one will be use for top bracing and over flow. As soon as I can fine a glass shop.

I did not get as far as I wanted on the tank. Could not fine black silicone any where in the city. Ordered some from J&L. I did get my glass cut for the over flow and brassing. Stand still on this part. Did start on the stand thou.

I have used alot of silicone on this thing. I have rotated the tank 360 and checked all the seams for voids. So far none found.
