Have you guys ever though about putting in an off-topic forsale thread? i have seen it on a few other boards and it has been pretty successful. Or would it take up too much space?

It's a topic that's been visited a few times. I do agree that for contributing members of the community that it would be a handy thing to have. It could happen some day but having said, that, there are currently no plans to adopt that.
A large portion of the board traffic as it is already is marketplace stuff, and it's always been our view that this is a reef "information" board first and foremost, so the concern is that this could take away from that goal.

I can see where you are coming from. There can be a lot of negative parts to it. Canreef being the great site that it is, I can see how you wouldn't want something like that to take away from it.

Lmao @ the tablesaw reference!
I find there is already an almost excessive amount of marketplace stuff. The 'new threads' is like at least half for sale posts most of the time. I'd hate to see how bad i would get with a non-aquatic related thing. It would be awesome (I'd use it), but it would clog too much I think.
