Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself as I step into this fun adventure with a Salt Water Reef Tank. Over the 6 weeks I have found a Used tank online, tweaked it slightly and now ready to dive in.

I think this is where I admit I have a problem... My name is Kelly, and I am a new reefer.

My tank has been cycling for about 5 week. It's a 72 Gal Bowfront Tank. The Ammonia is at zero, Nitrite is at zero and Nitrate is below 5. Saline is at 1.025. i'm still somewhat learning about the other tests. Calcium, Mag, Phosphate, etc.

I have attached pictures of my new challenge. I guess over the next months and Years I'll attempt to track my process and growth of the tank.

Welcome and nice tank!

During the cycling did you see the ammonia and nitrite spike?

Ammonia spiked during the first week then followed by a good nitrite spike for the following 2 weeks after that. Went through the cloudy milky tank look and now cleared up nicely on it's own.

I have already realized I should have gone bigger. Maybe I should start to plan the upgrade already.

 I know how that feels. I started with a 60g and now I have two 230g tanks, and I still would love a bigger tank.

Welcome to canreef and let the addiction begin
