This is not the mp40w. Only the speed can be controlled. You can buy a mp40 to mp40w upgrade kit from saltysupply.com for less than $100. I'm looking at getting 4 of the new koralia evolution pumps and attaching them to a wavemaker. So, I don't need this anymore. $150
