Would the installation of TapaTalk be an option for Canreef? It's a phone friendly app for browsing (free) and posting/PMing ($0.99 I think). I believe it's free to install. RC, and a few other non-fish relate boards I'm a part of are using it actively and I love it.

I miss Canreef but I've recently switched jobs and everything is blocked here. My only access to the forum is through my phone browser which isn't optimal.

+1 !! I was going to ask about this. Although running canreef through iPhone safari isn't that bad, it does get annoying sometimes to slide, swipe, swoosh through posts. A lot of other forums have implemented and it is the shizzle:biggrin:!

Knid of new to Tapatalk so I've got a question for you pros :) Is there a way to see where a poster is located? Would be useful when checking out the for sale threads to know where somebody is.

Hello,

There's mobile device support with vBulletin 4. I need to evaluate the new software before making a decision whether to go with Tapatalk still.

Yea. I am now on board.

Upgraded to an I-Phone and think this site could use an update to the technology minded people in here.

PS... has this just been swept under the carpet? It has been since December when Titus last made an update.

Hello,

Nope. It's just that I don't see Tapatalk as a strategic solution when vBulletin has one built in but that depends on when we will roll vBulletin 4, and unfortunately it's not going to be anytime soon because a) last I touched it I wasn't 100% happy with the migration experience and b) to a lot of people including us it's like going from vacuum tubes to transistors.

I understand the enthusiasm about it and it's definitely on my list but not now. I do appreciate you guys keep posting here, however, as I get an e-mail update.

Hi,

Isn't Tapatalk already installed on the forum but disabled. You're probably looking at only 2 hours to update it to the latest release and activate it.

In fact I still don't fully understand why it was disabled. A minor fix was required to alleviate a security concern with some tapatalk mobile clients. This would have been very quick to implement. Everyone other forum did this.

If vbulletin is so far away from upgrading, please activate tapatalk as an interim measure.

The whole 'new vbulletin' reason isn't sitting well.

A lot of people are wanting this.

(P.S. I mean this the most polite way. No offence intended. Also this post was typed on an iPhone, so please forgive the typos.)

Tapatalk is an easy to use app that makes the mobile browsing (and posting) experience of the forum so much more friendly. It's only like $3 but freely available for Forum owners to install.

A BIG THANK YOU to Titus!

I don't see the big deal, I tried tapajunk then deleted it. was no where near as friendly as using a browser on a good smart phone. now I suposes if you have a old phone and not a android, Iphone or BBerry torch then ya maybe it would be ok.

Tapatalks advantage is that it is ment to be used on a mobile device and thus downloads minimal data. By not loading all the graphics and photos etc it keeps the data to a minimum by sticking to just the text of each post. I spend enough time each month on various boards that I have to be very careful not to exceed my data allotment.
Thank you Titus!
