once again the age old question what silicone available at home depot or any hardware store is aquarium safe? through much research and surfing it appears to be ge silicone type 1 window and door as it has no mildew additive and is 100% silicone or rtv108 there is actually a family of the rtv type that are food grade but hard to come by but are available at select acklands grainger stores otherwise its an order thing and alittle pricey.
open to any opinions please.

Go to your local home hardware, they have one that is listed as aquarium safe on the package, fairly inexpensive as well...

That is the only place around here that I have found any.

In Calgary call Sabic polymers and shapes and get GE SC1200.

Call your favourite LFS (red coral, golds, ocean city, etc). I have seen pretty much all of them carry aquarium safe silicone in small or large sizes.
