Hey everyone! been a long time since ive posted on here but I thought I would post a thread on my build I am starting. Just priced out and ordered 3x 2-24w T5HO 22" strips w/ ballasts & individual reflectors thru a supplier at my work. Was gonna go with dimmable ballasts but their was a price difference of almost $200 a set . So I went with programmable start ballasts for longer lamp life . Here is a link of what i ordered :

Its just their spec sheet but you can see the specs/dimensions of the dual strips I ordered. Got lucky working for a electrical metal fab shop on pricing. Each dual strip worked out to $47 each for everything. I will be fabricating my own casing for the lights out of either 1/8 marine grade aluminum of S.S. and wiring it all up myself. I'll keep you all posted with pics as i go!

thought i'd post the slow progress I am making when I can find the time. here is how the fixture/hood looks so far. still havent welded ends on. still working out what will be best ie, fan placements/ventilation. Enclosure is being made of 1/8th marine grade aluminum along with the backpan the strips are being mounted. Once finished it will go to the powdercoaters to get coated textured black for a longer life. Inbetween the stips 3 led moonlights will be wired seperatly for a timed cycle. I will also be making a track for a piece of acrylic can slide in and out. thanks for looking

well decided to change the design and add in a little more help from the CNC machine we got at work. went a little thinner aswell using 12 gauge aluminum instead of 1/8th. here is what this one looks like before paint. dont mind all my grimey fingerprints all over it.

Hey man, I like the look of the second canopy better.... I was gonna say with the first canopy fans would be mounted on the side but with the new canopy it can be mounted inside hidden!
