I'm gluing up some acrylic pieces (6-10 joints about 6" long) this afternoon & just wondering how long I need to wait until they are safe to put in the sump?

Using WeldOn 3.

Vic I would at least wait for 24 hours.

I just finished a sump for my build and they told me that 24 hrs min. 48hrs is better, acrylic cement gets stronger every day it is left empty.

Arrrggggghhhhhh,
I new I shoulda glued things up Friday, then I could have been playing in the tank Sunday ...

Thanks for the info update Grizz - Its not stressed, its a surface skimmer box for my new/old skimmer.
I want to do some mods of my design, so I might not get it into the tank till Monday, anyhow :)

Weldon 3 is very fast curing, a couple hours is lots unless it's structural which should be left overnight. What you built isn't structural and will be fine if you want an early start and reef will be safe either way.

I have to work out how to mount the box in the 1st chamber of my sump, so it'll probably not go in until Monday - but you never know :)
