Advice on trace mineral additives: don't bother, save your money. They are trace, as in barely there. In huge tanks, okey maybe they can be useful there. But in smaller tanks your water change will suffice. Just my opinion.

For calcium, alk and magnesium additives I've had good luck with randy's 2 part additive. Best part... it's super cheap!

x2 on additives no need in small tank.
Kent Marine Liquid Reactor Additive
one part Liquid Reactor is a complete calcium buffer system

I would start at half dose and test calcium and alkalinity
General rule if you don't test it do NOT add it to the tank you will make it worse, just do your water changes.

What is "Randy's two part additive"? is it a DIY mix? or available in stores?

Its a DIY mix, Littlesilvermax (chemmaster) and BRS sell the materials you need. Its way cheaper than buying the store bought. Here is the link

And a handy calculator for it.
