OK - my wife and are have a debate going........

Corals touching other corals, what the deal?

Currently we have all soft corals and one of us thinks its OK for some corals to touch and some not.

Can someone with good knowledge help settle this debate?

Please give us a breakdown of what can and cant touch including hard.

Thanks in advanced!

Jeff

Very rough generalization. Corals from same family can touch, but corals from different families shouldn't.

ie. Frogspawn can touch hammer. Different mushroom can touch other mushroom corals. Zoas can touch other zoas.

Frogspawn should not touch mushrooms.

For sps, I found that it's best if different species don't touch each other. Same species but different colour variations can touch.

ie. Orange Montipora cap. can touch Green M. cap.

Monti. caps should NOT touch Acroporas or Milliporas.

Other types of corals should NOT touch sps.

This is going to force us to learn what we have in our tank, which is a good thing!

Depending what is in your tank and what is touching what you could both be right.
